Ukraine’s arbitration landscape has changed significantly in 2026.
The recent reform of Ukrainian arbitration law expanded the range of disputes that may be referred to international arbitration and introduced other important changes to the country’s arbitration framework.
Against this background, I am pleased to share the Ukraine chapter of the newly published Chambers International Arbitration 2026 Global Practice Guide, which I co-authored with Krystyna Khripkova, Nadiya Mykiyevych and Anna Kozyrieva at IMPACTA LAW.
The chapter looks at the Ukrainian arbitration framework from a practical perspective – from arbitrability and arbitration agreements to tribunal powers, court assistance, challenges to awards, and recognition and enforcement – while also addressing the implications of the 2026 reform.
For international practitioners working with Ukraine-related disputes, I hope it will serve as a useful and up-to-date reference.
Many thanks to my co-authors for another great collaboration, to Gary Born for his role as Contributing Editor, and to the Chambers Global Practice Guides editorial team for their work on the publication.
